Well it's day three at the "office" and it has been incredibly busy & exciting. One thing I want to express is that the Paralympians are a special breed of athletes. THEY DON"T COMPLAIN!! I don't mean that to minimize any other athlete, but you have to understand the difficulties & hardships they deal with on a daily basis that able bodies don't... Their stories are incredible and inspiring.. They have the greatest sense of humor!
Yesterday ~~ I had the awesome opportunity to work with one of our nations hero's, a former Army Ranger, turned paralympian! I have to admit I had to clench my teeth to prevent some waterworks... it was an awesome session with lots of laughs.. what a feeling to have them trust you with their care and before the games, they have no idea who you are. AMAZING!
The Village is beautiful, I was able to get some "down time" this morning and walk around and take some photo's & locate the International zone & post office and small shop. It has started to snow and we are expecting 6-8 inches of snow tonight?? we will see. The down hill skiers are not happy about this development.
It is going to be busy in the clinic tonight, all the athletes are out on the hill now and training and practicing some down hill runs... I have changed my "game plan" up a little for the remainder of the week until competition. I'll be providing the muscle specific 20 minute sessions and cold / hot applications if needed. Stretching when needed...
well have to run, will be in touch soon
