This past July I left my USMT office in Wallace Creek (located on Camp Lejeune NC) to head to RI for a "boxing camp" and see family & friends along with taking care of personal matters. Well, the boxing camp "fell apart"- didn't happen, wasn't going to happen before I even left NC. However, I'm a person of preparation and trying to be efficient with my time as best I can. This didn't sit to well with me for a few reasons: 1. When I'm not working, I'm not making money and I support myself, so that's an issue. 2. When I'm away from Wallace Creek I can't help my Marines and they are a priority. 3. My time is valuable!
I had built other things into this trip and to back out at that point would have been disappointing to too many others ... So, my partner in crime Kristen Paradise #USMT401 let me use one of her massage therapy treatment rooms to see my RI clients & athletes.. She's a god send and it made 24 people very happy along with letting me "recoup" what I lost in income because of the boxing debacle.
But you can bet your bottom dollar that I learned a valuable lesson and now this will forever be the SOP ( Standing Operating Procedure) I will not leave Wallace Creek & My Marines unless there is a 60 day pre-agreement and payment... Whether you want me for 1 week or 1 month ... This is non- negotiable ... And because of this learning curve I also became super über EXPENSIVE. (Yes, I'm worth it)
That was the first part of the summer....
