"My ambition is to represent the USA at the Beijing Olympics in 2022, and win an Olympic medal. In addition to representing my country, my goal is to represent my Heavenly Father and show people how much He loves them!"
Born in Cincinnati Ohio, raised in Columbia, CT, Kristen's first love, sports-wise, was basketball, but she also played soccer and softball through middle school. In high school she started to run track. She began with just sprints, then jumps, and eventually her coach convinced her to try the heptathlon, which landed her a scholarship to Gardner-Webb University. Kristen competed in the pentathlon and heptathlon in college, winning the Big South Conference twice and finishing First-team All Conference 7 times. As a member of Alphi Chi National Honor Society, she graduated with honors. But shortly before her graduation, while watching the Sochi Winter Games, Kristen recognized Lauryn Williams and Lolo Jones had made the switch from Track to Bobsled. Inspired by this, she decided to change her original post-collegiate plan from attending grad school and becoming a teacher to advancing with USABS recruitment was immediately invited to Lake Placid for rookie Bobsled camp which ended up being named the National Team for that year. At the end of the season, she tried out bobsled driving school and skeleton, and loved them both but decided to go with skeleton. So here she is and we are thrilled to have her as one of our very own Athlete Ambassadors!
