IASTM
(Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization)

Is a simple and effective manual therapy that will successfully break up and reduce fascial adhesiveness and excessive fibrotic scar tissue. IASTM instruments make it easier to detect and treat facial dysfunction. They magnify the abnormalities: scars, restrictions and adhesions in the fascia and muscle tissue making it easier to locate the area to be treated. Using a tool focuses the force through an area smaller than your finger with less friction. This allows a more efficient treatment. The gol is to trigger an inflammatory healing response. This will stimulate the production of new collagen and provide a more functional, less painful healing environment.
BENEFITS OF IASTM
• Decrease in overall treatment time
• Allows for quicker recovery – rehab
• Decreases the need for anti-inflammatory medication
• Resolves chronic conditions thought to be permanent
• Clients & athletes can continue to engage in everyday
  activities and training

Local or general use of low temperatures in medical (sports medicine) athletic intervention to treat a variety of muscular tissue damage brought on by physical athletic training, performance & competition.  Ice treatments vary from ice cup, cold plunge tub / bath to ice packs – there are a number of methods which can be used to apply various forms of cold therapy.  Depending on the body part to be cooled and type of injury presented along with athletic recovery / rehab protocols.

THERMO-THERAPY - HYDROCULATOR / HOT PACKS

Heat / hot treatment is used as a therapy for many varying sports related musculoskeletal injuries. Heat treatments should be used on chronic, long standing muscular injuries / strains along with utilizing before exercise to warm up tight muscles but should be avoided after exercise.

What are the benefits of heat?
• reduces pain
• reduces stiffness
• decreases muscle spasm
• increases blood flow to the area which promotes healing

CRYO-THERAPY (COLD) & THERMO-THERAPY (HOT)

Can be used in a combination of alternating therapies during a treatment session as well. There are a number of factors that the treating therapist would evaluate along with any and all contraindications that may also be present.  It’s important to know that cryo-therapy limits blood flow to the injured – target area (vaso-constricts at capillary level) while thermo-therapy allows blood flow to the injured – target area (vaso-contricts at capillary level) – It’s important to understand the physiological response to the body while implementing the proper treatment for improved muscular recovery, function and athletic performance.
