Lori Ann Gallant grew up in Rhode Island. She attended massage therapy school in Massachusetts and opened up a practice. She has supported four Olympic teams in their training and recovery as well as in competition. From 2004-2010, she also taught at a massage school and took students to local horse farms in Rhode Island to give them hands-on experience for other applications of massage. She had introduced them to equine massage.
She did not realize at the time how much horses were a part of her life and her future. While volunteering at a local horse farm, doing farm work, from mucking out stalls, to scrubbing dirty water troughs, she noticed a need. She began to watch how the horses walked and moved and she knew she could help them. With the permission of the owner of the farm, she began applying the same principles on the horses as she did on her human clients and saw positive results. Her work ethic and attitude pushed her into studying and learning more about equine massage. She found willing owners and horse volunteers. She started massaging horses and fell in love. |
Kate Isabelle grew up in central Pennsylvania surrounded by beautiful horse country. At an early age she began taking riding lessons, but had to put horses on hold for gymnastics. She nourished her love for horses by riding at gymnastics camp or volunteering any way she could around horses. In high school and college, Kate led trail rides at a summer sports camp and bought her first horse. With the help of her good friend, she trained him and eventually barrel raced and gamed. She now has four horses at her farm, three of which her two daughters show competitively, who happily appreciate their regular massages.
An athlete all her life, Kate was on the receiving end of many therapeutic and sports massages. Kate's understanding of the importance of massage therapy in aiding the speed of recovery from training, injury and competition led her to want to help others. She has always been interested in massage therapy and now through equine massage she is happy to help others by helping their horses feel and perform at their best. |
